Truck & Transport Mechanics
We are looking to recruit individuals to become trained in the area of truck and trailer repairs. Our objective is to ensure our maintenance staff are competent in the repairing, overhauling and inspecting of transport trucks and trailers. More specifically, the maintaining of suspensions, brakes, electrical systems, barrels, decks, hoppers, vans, dumps, hydraulics, landing gear and couplers on single- or multi-axle trailers.
Seaboard/Harmac Transportation Group employs various makes of tractors and trailers. Our trailer fleet is comprised of petroleum, chemical and propane tankers, as well as flat deck, hopper, end dump and cargo van trailers.
Positions are available at our maintenance facilities located in Toronto, Sarnia, Montreal, Halifax, and St. John’s.

Apprenticeship Program
High school graduation diploma or equivalent is required. To be a success in this trade you will need mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, good colour vision, ability to do hard physical work, computer knowledge, communication, problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

First- and second-year students who are currently working toward a journeymen's certificate in the Heavy Duty/Truck & Transport Mechanics trade are ideal candidates for this program.
You would be responsible for completing both your technical and on-the-job training, successfully complete technical training, and pass the industry exams.
Employment conditions would be a full-time position to work for Seaboard/Harmac after receiving a journeymen's certificate in the Heavy Duty/Truck & Transport Mechanics trade
